1 as well as throughout Tioga County with multiple incidents in progress.
Dept. 1 EMS started the day providing standby coverage for a foot race in the Ansonia area in Shippen Twp. and handled a number of additional calls throughout the morning.
During mid day , D-1 was dispatched in Wellsboro Borough for a motor vehicle accident involving a passenger vehicle vs. a bicycle.
One injury was reported and transported to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital.
All units were cleared quickly and returned to Quarters.
Dept. 1 was then dispatched to Box 1-04 in Charleston Twp. on the Cherry Flats Rd. for a reported land rescue, which turned out to be an individual trapped without injury in a confined space, as crews were arriving at this incident, Dept. 1 , (15 Morris, 11 Middlebury) were dispatched to a suspected mass casualty crash in Box 1-06 in Delmar Twp. on Rt. 287 near the Nessmuck Rod & Gun Club for a motor vehicle accident reported as 3 vehicles w/ multiple injuries.
Chief 1 diverted from the Cherry Flats Rd. call and arrived at the vehicle accident reporting 2 vehicles, with one in the roadway, the other over an embankment with 2 injuries and confinement.
Squad 1-18 arrived and quickly accessed the confined patient using hydraulic spreaders.
An Engine from D-15 arrived and placed a hoseline in service while extrication was ongoing.
Dept. 1 quickly handled the Charleston Twp. incident with no patient transport , and diverted all units to Rt. 287.
Ambulances from both Wellsboro and Morris handled patient transports, both to Williamsport, while additional ambulances from Wellsboro handled assessment and refusals from four other individuals.
Dept.11 was recalled and provided a standby Engine Co. to cover station 1.
Crews operated for 1 1/2 hours before clearing the roadway and returning all units to quarters.
Assisting agencies were UPMC Wellsboro ALS, Pennsylvania State Police and Coopers towing service.
Wellsboro EMS handled addition medical calls throughout the evening.
