Dept. 1 and Dept. 3 ( Elkland for RIT )were dispatched on Sat. morning 7/9/22 at 1:29am to Box1-07 in Delmar Twp. , 50 Wolf Run Rd. for a reported house fire with entrapment.
Engine 1-3 responded with a full crew including Capt. J. McCarthy as incident commander.
Based on initial reports upon responding, McCarthy requested a second alarm.
Upon arrival, at 1:36 am there was heavy fire involvement to the attached garage with heavy smoke and flames visible traveling into the home.
On arrival, someone reported to the engine crew that they believed everyone had gotten out however it couldnt quickly be confirmed.
Orders were given for a primary search of the home to be conducted, sending firefighters on their way to search for victims as hose lines were being stretched.
2 lines were quickly placed into service knocking down the majority of visible fire in minutes while firefighters inside finished their search and confirmed everyone had gotten out.
Tanker 1-5 arrived and gave an immediate water supply to E1-3 allowing another line to be placed into service.
E1-2 arrived and laid 700’ of 5” supply line to a nearby pond with a dry hydrant.
Incoming mutual aid consisted of Middlebury, Mansfield, Morris, Galeton and Lawrenceville.
Units operated on scene for several hours before being released.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries or patient transports reported.
The fire is believed to be accidental in nature and to have started in the garage.
The State Police fire marshal was also assisting on scene to help determine the cause.
The home was reported to be insured.
The home owners were displaced to stay with family.
